What happens when a yakuza boss retires? Watch this anime to find out.
Still on the quest to find your next series to binge? Worry not, as there are a ton of titles you might’ve not been noticing but are worth that screen time. One of these is a recently released anime series on online streaming site Netflix called “The Way of the Househusband” or “Gokushufudo,” as it is called in Japanese.
Based on a manga of the same title, “The Way of the Househusband” has one of the silliest premises in anime—not counting all those weird anime titles, of course. It is about a yakuza boss named Tatsu who retires from his mob life to become a househusband (yes, love changes all and that). Each episode in the anime features snippets of his daily life, from spending time with his wife to doing household chores, from taking time off to do aerobics with the village moms to doing groceries, all while meeting people from his previous life.
“The Way of the Househusband” is one of those anime titles that you just watch to enjoy. No need to overthink or to analyze every episode. Plus, it comes with a really cool animation courtesy of J.C. Staff Co. Ltd., the same studio that produced animes like “Shokugeki no Soma” and season 2 of “One Punch Man.”
Watch all five episodes of “The Way of the Househusband” on Netflix.
