Eight new homegrown titles have made it to one of the biggest audio streaming platforms this month
Podcast is now a cultural staple. The market for it in the Philippines, in fact, is growing at a steady rate. And with the increase in demand for these pre-recorded talk shows, more local podcasters are cropping up.
People are really listening and want to consume all of the content that is there and available. There is a level of dedication that comes from podcast listeners that you don’t otherwise find. And now the numbers prove it. Podcasts aren’t a bubble, they’re a boom—and that boom is only getting louder.

Among the world’s most popular media services, Spotify, expands its localized podcast offerings by recently partnering up with Filipino content producers. These new programs made for Pinoy audiences are part of the brand’s commitment to drive the further growth of the podcast scene in the Philippines.
“We’re seeing an increased demand for podcast content in the Philippines. Following our series of originals launched in February this year, we are thrilled to expand our Exclusive podcast offering in the Philippines, working with more local podcasters to tell their stories, create content that matters, and connect with listeners in the most intimate way,” explains Spotify head of studios for Southeast Asia, Carl Zuzarte.
What’s interesting is that most of the new exclusives fall under true crime and horror categories—least explored genres by content creators in the country. Check them out.
