Senator Leila de Lima is feared to have suffered a mild stroke, according to her doctor.
Atty. Fhillip Sawali, De Lima's chief of staff, said on Friday, April 23, that this was her doctor's impression after seeing her.
Prior to this, the senator has previously complained of headaches and general weakness of her body.
Sawali said magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and other tests, which are not available at the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital, are needed to ascertain her condition.
According to the senator's staff, the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branches 205 and 256, granted De Lima a three-day medical furlough starting Saturday April 24 at 10 a.m.
De Lima's camp had earlier filed a very urgent motion for medical furlough after she complained of headache and weakness last Wednesday.
The last time the courts granted her a medical furlough was in February 9, when she requested for a health check-up.
