The Paranaque City government on Thursday announced that 9,728 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries will receive their “ayuda” from the national government through online disbursement.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the city government has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) to facilitate the online disbursement of cash assistance to 4Ps beneficiaries in the city.
“We wish to thank DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista and LBP President and CEO Cecilia Borromeo for this partnership to help the local government in the distribution of the cash aid for the 4Ps beneficiaries. This is our strategic approach to expedite the distribution process and ensure the safety and security of our constituents,” Olivarez said.
The mayor said the program is just one of the local government’s initiatives to fully maximize the benefits of online government services during the pandemic.
Olivarez explained that the tripartite MOA indicates the crediting process through the use of the Pantawid Pamilya Information System (PPIS) to fund the transfer to the respective accounts of each beneficiary.
To date, Olivarez said a total of 9,728 active 4Ps beneficiaries in the city are registered in the PPIS.
DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista said their office supports the Parañaque City for taking the extra mile to use the government’s online disbursement platform.
LBP president and CEO Cecilia Borromeo said they are committed to provide a more convenient experience in using the LBP’s digital and online platforms especially to their partners in the government.
Borromeo said the MOA is a testament to their vision to promote cashless transactions in this time of pandemic.
