Bishop-Emeritus of San Jose Occidental Mindoro Antonio Palang dies

Bishop-Emeritus of San Jose Occidental Mindoro Antonio P. Palang has passed away on Wednesday, April 21.

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines said Palang died of cardiac arrest in Cebu City.

"He was 74 years old. May he rest in peace," the CBCP Secretariat said.

It was in 2018 when Pope Francis accepted the early resignation of Bp. Palang from the pastoral care of the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose in Occidental Mindoro.

Palang was ordained priest for the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) on July 8, 1972.

He was appointed as the second bishop of San Jose in March 2002.
