2 drug suspects selling shabu on Facebook nabbed in Pasig City

Two drug suspects who allegedly peddled shabu through social media were arrested by members of the Eastern Police District – Drug Enforcement Unit (EPD-DEU) during a buy-bust operation in Pasig City on Monday (April 19).

Maj. Darwin Guerrero, EPD-DEU chief, identified the suspects as Mark Edison S. Gutierrez , 26, and Christopher G. Sevilla, 22, residents of Barangay Bambang, Pasig.

According to a police report, an undercover policeman transacted with the suspects online and ordered shabu.

Sevilla delivered by motorcycle the order of the undercover policeman in Barangay Maybunga, Pasig. He was collared after accepting the marked money around 6:30 p.m.

He divulged to the police the location of Gutierrez. In a follow-up operation, police nabbed Gutierrez inside his house in Barangay Bambang, Pasig.

Seized from the suspects were 45 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P306,000.

The EPD-DEU chief said Sevilla told them that Gutierrez was the “big boss” of the drug-peddling operation in Pasig City.

According to Guerrero, they conducted surveillance in Barangay Bambang after learning about the illegal activity of Gutierrez and Sevilla on Facebook.

The two suspects are now being held at the EPD-Annex detention cell.
