“The number of infected by the COVID 19 virus has been constantly increasing and are you going to become part of the count?”
This was the question raised by the Philippine College of Physicians to the public as they encouraged them anew to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
In a press release Tuesday, the PCP strongly recommended vaccination to individuals who are immunocompromised or have chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, cancer, diabetes, kidney, or heart disorders.
“This is the best time to consult physicians as COVID 19 is a virus that can only be dealt with by medical science,” the group said.
The PCP also expressed support in the national government's prioritization of the population who are at risk of getting infected by the coronavirus in its vaccination plan.
The group of medical practitioners also underscored that “benefits of immunization outweigh the fears about undesirable side-effects and potential adverse reactions.”
The PCP assured the public that vaccines being used in the Philippines are safe and effective.
“The vaccines that are being administered today in the Philippines are the same efficacious brands used by other countries as well,” the PCP added.
