The De La Salle University (DLSU) has partnered with the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) to provide shelter to its frontliners and medical staff.

"As the country continues to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lasallian community looks at the most vulnerable sectors in our society, among them our medical professionals and health workers who risk their lives to care for the growing number of sick and the afflicted," DLSU said Monday, April 19.
"These frontliners are our present day heroes who have been fighting for us day in and day out for over a year now. As we currently face a severely strained health and medical workforce, we are called to support them that they may continue to serve our people," it added.
The Lasallian Center, a currently unoccupied dormitory in Malate, will serve as the isolation facility for PGH frontliners and medical staff.
The management of the facility will be under the supervision of the PGH, including the implementation of the quarantine protocols, provision for meals, and other necessities for the healthcare workers and medical housekeeping and security and safety services.
Health, safety, and security protocols will be strictly observed to ensure the health and well-being of the guests, as well as the residents of the neighboring areas.
The DLSU assured it will continue to work closely with PGH and support the efforts of the Manila City government to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
Last year, the university opened its campus to provide temporary shelter to homeless amid the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
