Man dies after drinking poisonous plant extract in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY - A man was found dead inside a nipa hut at Sitio Calatong, Barangay Cabadiangan, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental last week after he reportedly drank the extract of a poisonous Tubli plant.

Police identified the victim as Jessie Mallosa Jr., 24, of Barangay Cabadiangan.  

Investigation showed that the victim was believed to have taken the extract of the said plant in order to know its effect, according to his brother, who found him lifeless.

A tubli plant, which is reported to be a poisonous vine, was found beside the victim's body, police said.

Police said there was no sign of physical violence on the victim's body.
