GenSan native is PNPA's class valedictorian

A native of General Santos City topped this year’s 254 graduating cadets of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

But Cadet 1^st Class Kenneth John Etucas will not enter the PNP and chose to serve at the Bureau of Fire Protection BFP. As the Top 1 of the PNPA Hinirang Class of 2021, he will receive the Presidential Kampilan Award.

Etucas will also receive the Chief BFP Kampilan Award as the top cadet who chose the BFP service.

The 10 graduating cadets of the PNPA were presented on Monday’s, April 19, briefing at Camp Crame in Quezon City. Only one female cadet made it to the Top 10.

Cadets of the PNPA are given the option to serve in the PNP, BFP or the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology after their graduation.

Cadet 1^st Class Carl Jobell Lofranco, from Bohol, was the Top 2 of the Class. He will receive the Vice Presidential Kampilan Award and the Chief PNP Kampilan Award for being the top cadet to choose the PNP field of service.

Cadet 1^st Class Joel James de Guzman, from the province of Apayao, landed in the Top 3 and will also receive the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) Kampilan Award.

Cadet 1^st Class Kenneth Van Encabo is the Top 4 and will receive the Journalism Kampilan Award while Cadet 1^st Class John Kenneth Florentino, from Iligan City, is the Top 5 and will also receive the Best in Forensic Science Award.

Cadet 1^st Class Jay Neri Cornelio, from Zamboanga del Norte, landed in Top 6 while Geral Lopez, a licensed teacher from Island Garden City of Samal, is the Top 7.

Cadet 1^st Class Ian Limbawan was the Top 8 while Cadet 1^st Class Chervil Lerios Ferenal was the 9^th placer. Completing the list is Fire Cadet 1^st Class Michael Allan Lenon, from Capas Tarlac, who is the 10th placer.

The graduation of the PNPA cadets this year will be held on April 21 and will be done via Zoom.
