9 emergency field hospitals set up by PH Red Cross at Lung Center
Due to the increasing number of patients being admitted to the hospitals, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has set up a total of nine Emergency Field Hospitals (EFH) at the Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City.

“Our emergency field hospital must be near the Lung Center compound so those who tested positive and need hospital admission have access to doctors, nurses, X-ray, CT-scan, laboratories, and other medical facilities,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon.
The EFH, Gordon added, will act as PRC’s extension for Lung Center “to handle the increasing demand for beds in hospitals.”

Meanwhile, Gordon commended PRC staff and volunteers - together with the Philippine Medical Association and Philippine Nurses Association - who worked together to make the initiative a success.

Despite challenges, PRC assured that it will continue to help in the fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by conducting tests in its molecular laboratories nationwide.
