Fans will get to watch their favorite doctors from the hit Korean drama “Hospital Playlist” again.
Korean cable channel tvN announced that the second season of “Hospital Playlist” will premiere on June 17.
"Season 2 will follow a more compact and heartwarming storyline that extends bits and pieces of the plot from the first season," said director Shin Won-ho, according to the Korea Times.
The first season of “Hospital Playlist’ aired from March to May last year and its finale garnered a 14.14 percent rating, according to Nielsen Korea, to make it one of the highest-rated Korean dramas on cable TV in South Korea.
The beloved doctors at Yulje Medical Center will be coming back for the second season: Jo Jung-suk as Lee Ik-jun, Yoon Yeon-seok as Ahn Jeong-won, Jung Kyung-ho as Kim Jun-wan, Kim Dae-myung as Yang Seok-hyeong and Jeon Mi-do as Chae Song-hwa.
tvN released photos of the cast’s table read held last January. Shin Won-ho and screenwriter Lee Woo-jeong are behind the highly successful “Reply” Korean drama series.
"The viewers will be able to see deeper chemistry among director Shin Won-ho, writer Lee Woo-jeong, and the cast members, building on the incredible teamwork they showed through the first season," said tvN.
It added, “As the viewers have been anticipating the new season for a long time, we will do our best to offer a great show that meets their expectations."
Through “Hospital Playlist,” Jo Jung-suk won a string of best original soundtrack (OST) awards for his rendition of “Aloha.”
