An American national wanted for years by United States (US) authorities for sexually molesting a minor has been netted by Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) operatives.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said Michael Dennis Hartsock was nabbed in Loon, Bohol last Wednesday, April 14 by members of the bureau’s fugitive search unit in coordination with National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents.
The BI chief said the 71-year-old American fugitive is the subject of a decade-old arrest warrant issued by the San Joaquin County Superior Criminal Court in California.
He is wanted for six counts of sexual assault of a minor.
Morente said Hartsock is an undocumented and overstaying alien and a threat to the welfare and safety of Filipino minors.
“We will deport the undesirable visitor and permanently ban him from returning,” Morente added.
