Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said on Thursday the city government is planning to build a new local hospital.
Rubiano said she is now meeting with private partners that will help the city build a new hospital that will be run by the city government.
She added that they are now scouting for a location for the new hospital.
The mayor admitted that the city’s lone public hospital, the Pasay City General Hospital, already reached its full capacity including the two private hospitals due to the surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.
Rubiano said that while everything is still in the planning stage, the city government may build a makeshift hospital to help accommodate severe cases of COVID-19.
“Since before the surge of COVID-19, we are already planning to build a new public hospital where city residents can use their health card Take Care, I Care issued by the city government,” Rubiano said.
Aside from building a new hospital, Rubiano said the city government is also planning to build a triage system center.
She said the city government is already writing to the private sector for help in building a triage center.
