Palace offers heartfelt sympathies over passing of PLLO chief Sitoy

Malacañang is mourning the loss of Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) Secretary Adelino Sitoy.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque has offered the Palace's condolences to the family of Sitoy, remembering his crucial work in advancing the administration's priority measures in Congress.

"The Palace expresses its deep condolences to the family, loved ones and colleagues of Secretary Adelino Sitoy of the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO)," Roque said in a statement Thursday, April 15.

Roque recognized that Sitoy was instrumental in the passage of the key legislative reform measures of the Duterte administration.  He also credited Sitoy for the Executive's good working ties with legislature.

"As head of PLLO, he made sure that there is stronger Executive-Legislative collaboration to bring about genuine and lasting change through legislation," he said.

"We pray for the eternal repose of the good Secretary.  Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family," he added.

Sitoy, a former vice mayor of Cordova, Cebu, was appointed as Presidential Adviser on Legislative Affairs in September 2016. A lawyer by profession, he quit his local post to join the Duterte Cabinet.
