Basketball coach LA Mumar, who is also the brother of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, recently earned praise for not skipping the vaccine line.

“My mom didn’t skip the line, Vico didn’t skip the line, why should I?” Mumar said in an Instagram story Tuesday in response to people asking why he has not been vaccinated yet when his brother is a mayor.
The basketball coach also said that people should hold on to their values more “when things are difficult.”
“Sabi ok lang yan kasi life and death daw? So what? (They said it’s okay since it’s a life and death situation?)” Mumar wrote.
“What will I tell my children? It’s okay to do something illegal because it’s convenient?” he added.
Mumar urged the public to do their part and “choose what is right.”
“One person, one family at a time. There is hope for our country,” he said.
Among those who praised Mumar were broadcast journalists Karen Davila and Maria Ressa.
“SANA ALL…all politicians, family, and friends of politicians.Role modeling decency in public service. Kudos @ConeyReyes for raising such admirable boys,” Davila tweeted.
Ressa said: “It’s the 3rd string govt officials who skip the line, who believe they’re in power for themselves ugh - and yes, values - these times show exactly who we are.”
Mumar, meanwhile, clarified that he is not eyeing any government post and is just dedicated to being a basketball coach.
Mumar is the firstborn of actress Coney Reyes and PBA legend Larry Mumar.
