2 drug couriers killed, P210-M drug haul in Las Pinas buy-bust


Two alleged drug couriers died during a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Las Pinas City police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) inside a posh subdivision in Las Pinas City, Tuesday night and P210 million worth of shabu were confiscated from the suspects.

Police identified the suspects as a certain Coco Amarga and Andrew Garcia. They died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigation showed that the incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. inside the Tierra Hermosa Subdivision, Barangay Almanza 1, Las Pinas City.

Police said that prior to the shooting incident, members of PDEG coordinated with the Las Pinas police SDEU on the conduct of a buy-bust operation against Amarga.

Police also said that an asset was able to buy from the suspects one kilo of shabu.

After the transaction, the suspects allegedly drew their gun and shot the approaching policemen after operatives declared it was a buy-bust operation.

Police recovered from the suspects three boxes containing 31 pieces of large plastic sachets containing shabu amounting to P210-million, 2 .45 caliber pistol, and an SUV with plate number DAY 1328.
