The first bishop of the Diocese of Mati died Tuesday, April 13.

Retired Bishop Patricio Alo

Retired Bishop Patricio Alo passed away at around 4:35 p.m. at the age of 81.

His successor Bishop Abel Apigo asked prayers for the prelate.

“Please pray for the repose of his soul,” CBCP News quoted Apigo.

A priest for 57 years, Bishop Alo entered the episcopacy when he was named Auxiliary Bishop of Davao in 1981.
