What was supposed to be a special day of celebration for Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles became a day of sorrow. His father Prince Philip passed away on April 9, 2021; and on the same day 16 years ago, Prince Charles got married to Camilla.
Instead of the couple posting another milestone in their married life, they joined the Royal Family in mourning the loss of Prince Philip under their social media accounts Clarence House.
The next day, Prince Charles gave a brief speech about his papa.
It was just last March 25 when the couple flew to Athens, Greece to represent Britain. Prince Philip was born in Greece, and his speech that night included, "My wife and I could not be more delighted to be back in Greece, which has long held the most special place in my heart. After all, Greece is the land of my grandfather; and of my father’s birth, nearly one hundred years ago, in the centenary year of Greek Independence." Their visit was in celebration of Greece’s Bicentenary Independence Day.
