Police killed three suspected drug pushers in two separate operations in Parañaque and Pasay cities that also resulted in the confiscation of more than 81 million worth of shabu.
Gen. Debold Sinas, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said all the three slain drug pushers were known distributors of shabu in Metro Manila and nearby regions, adding that the supply usually came from a Chinese drug syndicate.
In Pasay City, he said operatives of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, or PDEG, conducted the operation after an asset was able to negotiate for the purchase of a kilo of shabu from Sekan Unotan and Zuharto Sanday.
But during the operation at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, the two sensed that it was a bust and allegedly opened fire at the anti-narcotics policemen in an attempt to escape. They were killed in the gun battle.
Seized from them were seven kilos of shabu worth P47.6 million, P1.5 million worth of boodle money and two handguns.
The Pasay City operation was a follow-up on the buy-bust in Paranaque City on Saturday evening wherein PDEG operatives killed a Richard Abusama in Barangay Sun Valley.
PDEG director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina said his men seized two handguns and a total of six kilos of shabu worth P35 million.
“The suspects are well-known distributors of illegal drugs within the NCR (National Capital Region) and other nearby regions. They were able to get supplies of illegal drugs from foreign national (Chinese) and Filipino/Muslim contacts,” said Medina.
