Jessica Soho recalls body-shaming experience

Seasoned broadcast journalist Jessica Soho recently admitted she is traumatized by social media.

She said so in the pilot episode of "The Howie Severino Podcast."

Asked how much time she spends browsing the internet and such, Jessica shared that she doesn't have her own social media account, but she usually opens her show "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho's" Facebook page from time to time to read some of the comments.

"I feel it's my duty to know kung ano 'yung feedback from viewers," said she.

"Unfortunately, I was one of those -- who I think -- isa sa mga unang na bash," she related. "Remember when they launched the iPad and then some wise guy tweeted, 'Oh, the iPad, when Jessica Soho holds the iPad, it looks like the iPhone.' So you know, I was body-shamed for that."

Jessica admitted that she doesn't understand why people are so "brazen" and "mean."

"Is it because of this anonymity?"

The veteran broadcaster also noted how the internet is filled with different fake news.

And she thinks the reason why people can no longer distinguish between what is real and fake is because everything has been mashed up and mixed in peoples' timelines and status updates.

"These are social media accounts that you use to post what you eat, places where you go, people you meet. Bakit mo hahaluan yan ng news content na serious?" she said. "I cannot wrap my head around that thing which is I think probably where Facebook troubles lie now."
