Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo departed for the United States on Friday, April 9, ahead of the highly-anticipated Miss Universe pageant in Miami, Florida.
Mateo wore a stylized "Barong Tagalog" in commemoration of "Araw ng Kagitingan" (Day of Valor) as she waved the Philippine flag before boarding the plane.
Mateo said she and her team will undergo a 14-day quarantine in Los Angeles, California upon their arrival.
After the pre-pageant activities, the coronation night will be held in May.
Mateo is eyeing to bring home the Philippines' fifth Miss Universe crown.
