A glimpse of the past: PVAO offers virtual tour of 10 military shrines in time for 'Araw ng Kagitingan'
The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) launched a virtual tour of 10 military shrines across the country in commemoration of "Araw ng Kagitingan" (Day of Valor) on Friday, April 9.

The featured military shrines include the Kiangan National Shrine in Ifugao; Mount Samat National Shrine or "Dambana ng Kagitingan" in Bataan; Balantang Memorial Cemetery National Shrine in Iloilo; US Army Forces in the Philippines-Northern Luzon (USAFIP-NL) Military Shrine and Park at the Bessang Pass in Ilocos Sur; and Balete Pass National Shrine in Nueva Vizcaya.
It also showcased the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City; Capas National Shrine in Tarlac; Ricarte National Shrine in Ilocos Norte; Philippine-Korea Friendship Center in Taguig; and the Corregidor Island.

Araw ng Kagitingan, a national holiday, seeks to honor the valor of Filipino troops who worked alongside American soldiers to combat the Japanese invaders during World War II.
