The local government of Pasay said the city's public crematorium is offering free cremation services to residents who succumbed to COVID-19.
City Mayor Emi Rubiano said Pasay will also receive a new and faster crematory machine on April 19.
With the new machine, Rubiano said the cremation process will only take about half to one hour.
Currently, it takes five to six hours to fully cremate a body at the city's public crematorium because, according to Rubiano, the city's machines are already old.
The mayor said the city has cremated 405 individuals who succumbed to COVID just for the month of March.
