In a recent interview, Go said that government finance managers still have to identify fund sources and thoroughly assess the financial situation of the country.

He, however, expressed support for any plans in the Senate to tackle the proposed Bayanihan 3, whether through a special session or during the regular session when Congress resumes plenary session on May 17.

Congress will go on a sine die adjournment on June 4.

"Ako po ay sang-ayon d'yan kung may pondo. Sa ngayon po ay binabalanse pa muna nila lahat. Ayaw nila mangako, dahil unang-una, dapat munang ma-identify kung may pondo tayong pagkukuhaan (I am in favor of it if there are funds. Finance managers are still balancing everything. They do not want to make promises, because first of all, we should identify available fund sources)," Go said.

For now, any available fund should be maximized and utilized immediately to help Filipinos recover from the economic crisis triggered by the pandemic, he said.

Go expressed concern for families affected by the reimposition of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces of Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna amid the high coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

He reiterated his appeal to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and local government units (LGUs) to expedite the distribution of the supplemental amelioration to 22.9 million low-income Filipinos in the NCR Plus bubble.

In a separate statement, still, he maintained the importance of compliance to the ECQ protocols.

“Kinailangan nating i-extend ang ECQ. Kaya dapat lang na ibigay rin natin ang anumang tulong na kaya nating ibigay sa mga tao. Habang pinipilit nating manatili sa bahay ang mga Pilipino, siguraduhin rin nating ligtas sila at may pang-kain sa kanilang pamilya (We were compelled to extend the ECQ. It is also proper that we provide them assistance. While they are forced to stay at home, let us also ensure that they are safe and they have something to eat),” Go said.
