A 104-year old woman received a round of applause from hospital staff as she headed home after beating the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) for a second time in northern Colombia.

Carmen Hernandez was first diagnosed with the coronavirus in June 2020 and was treated in San Jose nursing home where she has lived for 25 years, according to a report from BBC News.
After receiving her first vaccine dose in February, Hernandez was diagnosed with COVID-19 for the second time on March 8 and was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit.
Hernandez was finally discharged on Monday, April 5, after 21 days in the hospital fighting the virus.
