Three communities in San Mateo, Rizal were placed under a 14-day granular lockdown amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the areas.
Mayor Cristina Diaz approved the recommendation of the San Mateo Task Force COVID-19 to place three communities under a granular lockdown due to the rising number of infections in the areas.
Under the Executive Order No. 9 Series of 2021, the areas under granular lockdown from April 5 to April 18 are: St. Matthew Square Phase 2, Barangay Guinayang; Certain Portion in Upper Magnolia Street, Barangay Sto. Niño; and Lower Daffodils Street, Barangay Sto. Niño.
As of April 5, San Mateo has recorded a total of 1,775 confirmed cases. Of which, 1,489 have recovered, while 69 died due to the disease.
The local government also started vaccinating its residents as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the municipality.
The San Mateo Municipal Government announced that the first 150 residents of Barangays Banaba, Ampid 1, Ampid 2, Sta. Ana, Guitnang Bayan 1, and Guitnang Bayan 2 under the A3 priority list who have pre-registered for the vaccination of Sinovac jabs will be on April 7 from 8.a.m. to 10 a.m. at the covered court of San Mateo National High School.
Under the A3 priority group are those 18 to 59 years old who have comorbidities such as having cardiovascular ailments, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, aids, etc.
Inoculation for the private medical frontliners will be 10 a.m. onwards at the same venue.
Those in the list must bring an identification card or medical clearance.
