BACOLOD City – Four members of a family were found dead inside their house at Gardenville Subdivision, Barangay Tangub here on Wednesday.
Police Maj. Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 8, identified the fatalities as Jocelyn Espinosa, her sister Gemma Espinosa, their nephew Michael Espinosa, and his six-year-old daughter, whose name was withheld.
Puerto said Jocelyn's partner, who is a seaman, called his friend here to check their house since he couldn't reach the victim for three days now.
When the seaman's friend went to Jocelyn's house, he discovered the decomposing bodies of the four victims, who were believed to have been hit by a hard object in the head, Puerto said.
Puerto said the bodies of Jocelyn and Michael wrapped in a blanket were found outside the house, while the child was found on the sofa, and Gemma was found at a hut at the back of their house.
Puerto said there was no forcible entry at the house of the victims, an indication that they might have known the perpetrator.
Puerto said they dismissed the robbery angle, since no valuables were missing at the residence of the victims.
Puerto said they already have a person of interest, but refused to reveal his identity as of press time. He said the person of interest was Jocelyn's relative, whom she allegedly would usually lambast.
Puerto said the perpetrator might have too much hatred or grudges against them for committing the crime. He said that the perpetrator may face multiple murder charges.
