What does Quezon Institute modular hospital look like from inside? Villar gives a preview
Department Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Mark A. Villar gave a sneak peek of the newly-built modular hospital for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients at Quezon Institute.
He did so via a series of posts in his Facebook wall Monday, April 5.
"The modular hospital at Quezon Institute will be operational by tom (April 6). #BuildBuildBuild #WeHealAsOnePH," Villar wrote in a post showing the facade of the modular hospital.
He then brought his camera inside the facility to share more pictures.
According to isolation czar Villar, the modular hospital will have a total bed capacity of 110 beds. Its ICU unit will be able to accommodate 22 patients, he said.
He said the hospital will be able to handle "moderate to severe COVID cases".
The modular hospital is seen as a key facility in mitigating the current surge of COVID cases, particularly in the "Greater Metro Manila" area.
Last March 29, the Cabinet official bared that the occupancy rate of beds in Metro Manila-based quarantine facilities stood at 64.48 percent.
