Jinggoy Estrada recently posted on social media an update relating to his father, President Joseph "Erap" Ejercito-Estrada's ongoing battle with COVID-19.
He said, "Former President Joseph Estrada is currently confined due to COVID pneumonia. While he needed to be placed on high flow oxygen support, we are thankful that there has been no need to put him on a ventilator..."

Jinggoy added his dad is "sedated" to lessen the effects of anxiety, which may affect his heart and aggravate his condition.
"Thus, he has been moved to the ICU for closer observation," he related.
He assured that Erap is currently in a "stable but guarded condition."
Jinggoy, on behalf of their family, thanked everyone who has expressed their love and support for their patriarch. He then requested continued prayers for Erap's immediate recovery.
Recall that prior, fake news about Erap's supposed passing circulated.
Jinggoy's brother JV, belied the report.
"The news circulating about my dad is not true. He is still in the hospital recuperating. Whoever is behind this fake news is so unchristian. You do not wish bad things to anyone, no matter if you don’t like the person," he wrote.
GMA, which supposedly carried the news, also released a statement about it.

"GMA News wishes to clarify that it did not produce a post saying that former President Joseph 'Erap' Estrada has died. Screencaps of the post, which may be spreading on social media and messaging apps, make unauthorized use of the logo of GMA News and Public Affairs Digital," they said.
"We also ask people to refrain from sharing the offending post, which have reported to social media platforms. We urge people to follow our social media platforms. We urge people to follow our official account @GMANews on social media channels for the latest news and updates."
