Enzo Pineda shares alternative in fighting COVID-19

Actor Enzo Pineda is urging fellow Pinoys to open their minds and try other options in battling the killer virus.

His suggestion? Anti-parasitic drug Ivermectin.

Apparently, his father, lawmaker Eric Pineda (1-PACMAN party-list), has been pushing for the same.

Taking to Twitter, the actor shared, "Proud of my dad for spearheading the approval of Ivermectin as an affordable drug to fight COVID-19."

"I have friends who recently recovered from the virus who can testify that the drug works and I'm also using it now as preventive medicine."

As if addressing potential bashers, he added, "Yes we are still treading the waters because the virus is constantly evolving. Pero sana po buksan natin ang ating isipan for different alternatives because people are dying not just because of the virus but also from hunger and anxiety..."

He added a disclaimer: "I am not a scientist or a doctor to prove it...kaya I urge our brilliant doctors and scientists to have a closer look to why it's working..."

Are you brave enough to try Enzo's suggestion?

Note the US Food And Drug Administration (FDA) already advised against it noting it has received multiple reports of patients who have required medical support and been hospitalized after self-medicating with Ivermectin.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization's (WHO) representative to the Philippines Rabindra Abeyasinghe said available data “is not strong enough” to advocate the use of Ivermectin for COVID-19 treatment.
