Ombudsman's offices closed for 4 days starting April 5 for cleaning, disinfection

The Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) in Quezon City will be physically closed starting Monday, April 5, until Thursday, April 8, for the cleaning, disinfection and fogging of all its offices and work stations.

In a public advisory, the OMB said the work will be done during the four-day closure is one of the measures “to ensure the health of all concerned.”

Last Monday, March 29, the OMB also closed all its offices and directed all its personnel to work from home.

Ombudsman Samuel R. Martires last Sunday, March 28, said the physical closure of the OMB’s offices  is “in line with the appeal of the Quezon City government to all national government offices within its jurisdiction to adopt a work from home arrangement in order to help in the arrest of the continuing rise of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) cases.”

“All unit heads, Directors, Assistant Ombudsmen, and Deputy Special Prosecutors are directed to regularly monitor the work from home assignments of their staff,” he said.

“No official or employee shall be allowed to enter the office premises unless authorized by the Ombudsman or his duly authorized representative,” he added.

The National Capital Region and its adjacent provinces – Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal – have been placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for the second week from April 5 until April 11.

All courts in the NCR and the four provinces are also physically closed during the extended ECQ period.
