Gov't to strictly implement health protocols, track new cases
Malacañang has ordered three government agencies to strictly implement the prevention, detection, isolation, treatment, and reintegration (PDITR) measures and monitor the numbers as this will play part in determining the next quarantine classification of the Greater Manila Area.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque made the statement after President Duterte approved extending the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal until April 11 due to the high number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.
In a statement, Roque said the following national government agencies have been directed to ensure the strict enforcement of the PDITR strategy:
· Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for concerned local government units (LGUs)
· Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) have been directed to provide the data in the workplaces and establishments
The Task Group on Management of Returning Overseas Filipinos (TG MROF), meanwhile, shall provide the data on returning overseas Filipinos.
According to Roque, the effectiveness of the PDITR, along with other considerations, will determine if the Greater Manila Area can downgrade to modified ECQ (MECQ).
"Health care utilization, case numbers, and the PDITR gatekeeping indicators would serve as the parameters to be assessed for the succeeding week's risk classification," he said.
The country recorded 12,576 new COVID-19 cases on Black Saturday, bringing the total number of infections to 784,043.
Roque said on Saturday that during the one-week extension of the ECQ, there will be an additional 110 beds for moderate to severe COVID-19 patients at the Quezon Institute in Quezon City.
He added that there will be at least 160 more beds additional bed capacity next month.
