Caloocan City Representative Edgar “Egay” Erice on Sunday, April 4, confirmed that he tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Erice disclosed this development on his Facebook post on Sunday morning.
“After eight days in quarantine, I have tested positive of COVID,” Erice said.
The House lawmaker said his office would be temporarily closed “due to the numerous cases among my staff members.”
“I have very mild symptoms so nothing to worry. God’s grace shall bear us out of this pandemic,” he said.
Aside from Erice, at least 15 other members of the House of Representatives have tested positive for COVID-19. The recent ones were Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor, and Negros Oriental Rep. Jocelyn Sy Limkaichong.
Other lawmakers who also tested positive for COVID included Deputy Speaker and Oriental Mindoro 1stDistrict Rep. Doy Leachon, Zamboanga City Rep. Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, Gabriela Women's Party Rep. Arlene Brosas, 1-PACMAN party-list Rep. Eric Pineda, Cavite Rep. Luis "Jon-Jon" Ferrer IV, Deputy Speaker Mujiv Hataman, and Surigao Del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel.
Two House lawmakers—Senior Citizens party-list Rep. Francisco Datol Jr., and Sorsogon 2ndDisrict Rep. Ma. Bernardita “Ditas” Ramos -- died last year after testing positive for the disease.
