‘Hindi nawala’: 98% of P15-B ‘pocketed’ funds liquidated - PhilHealth

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) on Saturday, April 3, that 98 percent of the P15 billion allegedly “pocketed” by some officials, has already been liquidated.

In a Facebook post, PhilHealth said the controversial funds were “not missing” and were allocated to hospitals across the country to help those who were in need of medical assistance and support amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

“Napunta ito sa 711 ospital sa bansa bilang ayuda sa pandemya at para mapanatili silang bukas para sa mga pasyenteng nangangailangan ng gamutan (It went to 711 hospitals in the country as pandemic aid and to keep them open to patients in need of treatment),” the state insurer said.

Of the P15 billion,  a total of P14.7 billion or 98 percent of the total Interim Reimbursement Mechanism (IRM) has been liquidated and released nationwide, PhilHealth said.

“Properly accounted po ito (This is properly accounted),” it said, adding that the amount went to patients-beneficiaries and “not into someone else’s pocket.”
