The Municipality of Naic in Cavite announced that it will be distributing the financial assistance from the national government for those affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in cash.
In a post on Facebook, Mayor Junio Dualan said that the local government has yet to receive the P115,822,000 that is allocated for Naic which it opted to give in cash to the people.
"Ibinigay din po sa respective LGUs ang desisyon kung ang ibibigay ay “in cash or in kind.” Para po sa ating bayan, napagdesisyunan ko pong ipamahagi ang ayudang ito IN CASH (The decision to give the aid in cash or kind was given to the local government units and for us here in Naic, we have decided to give it in cash)," the post said.
It added that the local government is currently discussing with officials to expedite the issuance of the financial aid.
The supplemental amelioration program of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for those who are affected by the ECQ in the National Capital Region-plus (NCR-plus) is worth P1,000 per individual and not more than P4,000 per family.
The grant will cover 22.9 million Filipinos in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite and Laguna and was approved by President Duterte on Monday night.
The NCR has half of the target beneficiaries at 11.2 million while 3.4 million will be from Cavite; 3 million from Bulacan; 2.7 million from Laguna; and 2.6 million from Rizal.
