Foodpanda riders demand justice for colleague killed in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY — Calls for justice have mounted for a Foodpanda delivery rider who was shot and killed by a security guard here on Holy Wednesday.

Fellow delivery riders have staged vigils at the site where Joemar Sanchez was shot point blank by security guard Argie Solis.

They held placards that says “Justice for Joemar Sanchez.”

“While nothing can up for losing a loved one, we are hoping for quick resolution that justice will be served for Joemar and his family,” said Foodpanda in a statement.

Sanchez delivered food for employees of a bank past 11 a.m. March 31.

The security guard was allegedly irked that Sanchez placed the wet plastic bag containing food on the desk that had some documents. While Sanchez apologized, the security guard suddenly pulled out his gun and shot Sanchez.

The security guard then fled the crime scene but was later arrested in Antique.
