DOH logs 6,128 new COVID-19 infections, raising active cases to 130,245
The Department of Health (DOH) announced the detection of 6,128 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Wednesday, March 31.

The recorded number of new infections is considered the lowest in a single day since the Philippines logged 6,666 new infections on March 24.
The new cases brought the total of active cases nationwide to 130,245. Of this figure, 95.8 percent have mild symptoms, 2.6 percent were asymptomatic, 0.6 percent were in critical condition, 0.6 percent were severe, and 0.38 percent have moderate symptoms.
It was shown in the latest case bulletin that the overall tally of confirmed cases in the Philippines is currently at 747,288.
Based on the DOH COVID-19 tracker with the data as of March 30, the top regions with the most number of cases were the National Capital Region with 322,615 cases, Calabarzon with 123,684, Central Luzon with 52,320, Central Visayas with 51,584, and Western Visayas with 29,514.
The DOH said that 80.8 percent of the overall tally or 603,746 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have already recovered. On Wednesday, the Health department said 491 more people were able to beat the viral illness.
However, the death count increased by 106 to 13,297. The country’s case fatality rate was at 1.78 percent.
