The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has processed, cleared, and released over 2.5 million doses of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) so far.

The latest batch of the COVID-19 jabs to go customs, particularly through the Port of NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport), was the one million doses of China-made Sinovac vaccines that arrived Monday afternoon, March 29 at Villamor Airbase, Pasay City via Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight no. PR361.
The vaccines were cleared by the BOC One-Stop-Shop team through advance clearance process last March 26, 2021. The batch that arrived Monday was the first to come via government procurement.
The vaccines were escorted by BOC personnel until they were safely delivered to the Metropac Cold Storage Facility in Marikina City. The jabs will be stored there pending their distribution to various parts of the country.
With expected influx of more COVID-19 vaccines, BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, vowed the expeditiously process, clear, and release arriving vaccines that were either procured by government or were donated by other countries.
For her part, Port of NAIA District Collector, Carmelita M. Talusan, assured the public that the Port will remain steadfast and dedicated in ensuring the timely and immediate release of personal protective equipment and medical supplies amid the threat of COVID-19.
