A breathtaking 16.4-kilometer road built atop the hills to link mountainous towns of Sultan Kudarat is now almost complete, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said.

Villar said the Koronadal-Lutayan-Columbio-Matanao Road “is already 99.06 percent completed” and is now only undergoing final finishing works.
The road covers the towns of Lutayan and Columbio.
Villar said it will provide better connectivity between Soccsksargen and Davao Region by allowing faster travel from Koronadal City in South Cotabato to the municipality of Matanao in Davao del Sur, reducing the current travel time of four hours and 10 minutes to just two hours and 20 minutes.
The secretary further said that the road will allow better access to many hidden tourist spots tucked in Columbio town like the famous La Palmera Mountain Ridge, Fetam Klego Waterfalls and underground river, Tabong Falls, and Bansuing Falls.
It will also serve as an alternate route that is seen to benefit farmers and traders by bringing expanded economic opportunities in the area.
The road is a multi-year project funded under the 2015-2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA) amounting to P1.1 billion.
