Bren Esports' Duckeyyy on possible head coaching role in SEA Games: I'll be honored

A world champion coach leading the Philippine national Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team in the SEA Games is definitely a dream scenario. 

Bren Esports' Francis "Duckeyyy" Glindro expressed his willingness to serve as the head coach of the country's MLBB contingent to the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam. 

"I'll be honored!" Duckeyyy told Manila Bulletin when asked if he would be interested taking the role of the national ML team's chief tactician in the 31st edition of the biennial meet set later this year. 

"It (being head coach of national team) is not (in my plans) to be honest since the host country is Vietnam. They're not an MLBB country. (But) now since MLBB is confirmed part of the SEA Games 2021, I wish to take part of it. It would mean alot!" he added. 

Moonton's popular mobile MOBA game is reportedly one of the esports titles that will be played in Hanoi along with League of Legends: Wild Rift (mobile), Arena of Valor (mobile), PUBG Mobile, Garena Free Fire (mobile), League of Legends (PC), FIFA Online 4 (PC) and CrossFire (PC). 

Sibol, the national esports team, snared the gold medal with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Indonesia in the finals of the Mobile Legends event in the 2019 SEA Games hosted by the Philippines. 

That gold winning squad was composed of current Bren stars Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno, Angelo "Pheww" Arcangel, CJ "Ribo" Ribo and Allan "Lusty" Castromayor, Smart Omega's Jeniel "Haze" Bata-anon and Kenneth Jiane "Kenji" Villa", and Onic PH's Jason "Jay" Torculas under coaches Brian "Panda" Lim (now with Laus Playbook Esports), Steven "DaleDalus Vitug (Aura PH) and Mitch Liwanag (Aura PH). 

The national ML team will absolutely aim for a successful title defense in the SEA Games and having the multi-titled mentor Duckeyyy at the helm will boost the chances of making it a reality. 

Duckeyyy is a two-time world champion coach, winning the M1 with Indonesia's EVOS Legends in November 2019 and the M2 with Bren just last January 2021. 

He also steered Bren to the MPL Philippines Season 6 championship and a triumphant title-retention campaign in The Nationals Season 2 prior to M2 in Singapore.
