Mayor Olivarez maintains medical officers made the right call in vaccinating actor Mark Anthony Fernandez

Is the actor healthy or not?

Despite the disputing claims whether actor Mark Anthony Fernandez is healthy or not, Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez is convinced that medical officers at the vaccination center made the right decision in inoculating him against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) since they found out that he has comorbidities during his screening.

In an interview with ANC, Olivarez said that they are prepared to explain should the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), particularly Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III, issues a show cause order against him.

Densing said in an interview that Fernandez himself admitted that he was healthy and was only taking vitamins.

"Based on the screening according to the medical officer, si Mark Fernandez mayroong comorbidities mayroon siyang hypertension mayroon siyang depression (Based on the health screening done by our medical officer, Mark Fernandez has comorbidities. He has hypertension and depression)," Olivarez said.

Asked about the actor's health, Olivarez replied that only the medical officer knows about it and that according to them he has comorbidities.

"We will explain everything yung mismong testimony ng aming medical officer and our CHO will be there," he said.

Olivarez said that perhaps Densing did not hear the whole story on the actor's vaccination.

How did the actor get vaccinated?

"So yun pong mga nakaschedule na health worker natin kapag po hindi dumadating po iyan merong substitution list na ginagawa yung ating City Health Office (CHO) pati medical officers in charge of that vaccination center (There is a substitution list made by the CHO and medical officers in charge of the vaccination center should those scheduled to be inoculated on that day fail to arrive)," the mayor said.

Olivarez added that Fernandez was on that substitution list. He explained that those who are on the substitution list would wait in vaccination centers if they will get a chance to be inoculated against OOVID-19.

"Sayang po yung ating vaccine eh kasi di dumating yung frontliner…on that specific day eh mayroon na pong nabawas doon sa ating vials kapag hindi mo isinaksak po yun di mo vinaccine or inoculate masasayang po yun, so meron kaming substitution list (Vaccines will be wasted if we will not use them on the day that the medical frontliners fail to make it, that's why we have a substitution list)," he added.

Olivarez said that aside from Fernandez, there were a lot who were on the substitution list both senior citizens and with comorbidities who were vaccinated on the same day.
