After keeping mum for so long about her pregnancy and subsequent journey to motherhood, Janella Salvador is now quite eager to reveal all that she could about it.

Egging her on are Slater Young and Kryz Uy.

In their podcast, the two asked Janella how she told her mom Jenine Desiderio about her getting pregnant out of wedlock.

It was a bummer actually, as, according to Janella, her mom already had an inkling about it -- no thanks to a hospital intern.

“I was so pissed honestly because these are things you would want to tell your family members personally,” Janella said.

So when she spilled the tea, Jenine supposedly managed to keep a poker face.

The conversation went:

"'Mama I need to tell you something..."

"What you're pregnant?"

Janella was already four months on the way when she mustered the courage to do so.

"It was via video call lang. I was supposed to tell her in person but because of the pandemic, I was locked down, I couldn't leave the house," she added.

Note the two aren't really chummy as Janella herself admitted.

"People know this naman, my mom and I had this like unstable-ish relationship. We're not always okay. Highlighted lang because we're in the limelight," she said.

Nonetheless, she is thankful Jenine was quite supportive of her pregnancy.

And why did she hide it from her public?

"One, at my age, it was kinda scary, of course. I had to think about so many things like how am I gonna tell everyone? Of course, it’s not easy, especially at my age there’s a lot of harsh criticism,” Janella explained.

“I needed the peace and quiet to have a happy pregnancy. We wanted to enjoy it as a family.”

"We just wanted to enjoy those little moments -- the calm before the storm."
