CHED asks teaching, non-teaching personnel to register for ‘voluntary’ COVID-19 vaccination

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) directed its regional offices nationwide to contact Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in their areas and gather the names of the teaching and non-teaching staff who are willing to be inoculated with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines.

(MANILA BULLETIN)

In a memorandum issued by the Office of the Executive Director dated March 16, all regional directors and presidents and heads of public and private HEIs were informed on the registry of teaching and non-teaching personnel of public and private HEIs for voluntary COVID-19 vaccination.

Signed by Officer-in-Charge Lily Freida Macabangun-Milla, the said issuance noted that “all CHED Regional offices are tasked to contact the higher education institutions under their jurisdiction and survey the names of personnel who are willing to join the COVID-19 Vaccination Program.”

To pave the way for safe reopening of schools, CHED has requested the Department of Health (DOH) to prioritize teaching and non-teaching personnel of public and private HEIs in the government’s vaccination program for COVID-19.

In particular, CHED has requested the DOH to include the teaching and non-teaching staff in HEIs to be included in the Priority Eligible Group B for COVID-19 Vaccination Program of the national government.

As a response, CHED said that DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje “requested the Commission to have first a registry of these teaching and non-teaching personnel of HEIs.”

CHED said that the registration will be done through the following Google form links provided. “Teaching and non-teaching personnel will have two separate forms assigned,” CHED added.

Non-teaching personnel must register using this link: http://bit.ly/CHEDRegistry-COVID-19Vaccination-Non-Teaching

CHED said that the registration will “close until the target number of participants for the program is reached.”

Once completed, CHED noted that this registry will be forwarded to the DOH Sub-Task Group on Registry and Data Management for consideration.
