CARMONA, Cavite - The local government unit (LGU) here has started vaccinating its medical health workers and frontliners against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Monday (March 22).
Among those who received the first doses of AstraZeneca vaccine were Municipal Health Officer Dr. Homer Aguinaldo, Pagamutang Bayan ng Carmona consultant Dr. Lendell Gatchalian, and Carmona Dental Circle President Dr. Ireanne De Guzman.
Present during the vaccine rollout were Cavite 5th District Rep. Dahlia A. Loyola, Mayor Roy M. Loyola, and Carmona Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Eden Gesmundo.
In a statement, Mayor Loyola called on his constituents to support the national government's COVID-19 vaccination program and the local government's long-term vaccination plan. He said the nation can only rebuild its economy "if we are in good health and not threatened by the virus."
The LGU is expected to vaccinate 961 health workers and frontliners until March 23.
