Two Filipino bets posted contrasting results in the pilot episode of ONE Championship's edition of "The Apprentice."

Louie Sangalang emerged successful in their team's first physical and business challenges while Lara Pearl Alvarez, a single mother who used to train with famed Benguet stable Team Lakay, had a second chance after being included in the chopping block.

In the relay relace, Sangalang of Team Valor capped the event with a swift javelin throw en route to its first victory.

Sangalang then used his mixed martial arts and athletic knowledge to guide the squad in their first business challenge, picking the appropriate items to market in their "ONE at Home" Fan Experience task.

Despite a dramatic turn of events, with project manager Clinton Tudor put in hot water for reading the presentation and other aspects, Team Valor still won the challenge thanks to Jessica Ramella's backup role while Team Conquest failed anew.

Alvarez, Nazee Sajedi and Alvin Ang were put on the chopping block but ONE Championship CEO and founder Chatri Sityodtong gave them another chance to prove their worth, revealing that it was a non-elimination challenge.

Alvarez and Sangalang were just two of the 16 candidates vying for the $250,000 job offer as the protege of Sityodtong.

The Apprentice premiered in Asia on March 18 while local telecast partner TV5 has aired the first episode on Saturday, March 20. One Sports will follow suit today, March 22.
