PAL to carry only essential travelers during 'travel bubble' period
Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has said that it will only carry passengers traveling for essential or non-leisure purposes between Manila and domestic stations within the period of March to April 4.

This is in line with the latest resolution of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) allowing only essential travelers to move in and out of the National Capital Region (NCR) and the rest of the so-called "travel bubble" during the period, PAL said.
The airline company said essential travelers must present valid identification showing proof of residence, on top of other requirements of their respective local government units (LGUs).
PAL underscored that the situation--which was triggered by the sudden increase in new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases particularly in NCR--was "evolving".
"Should there be new guidelines from the government on domestic air travel restrictions in and out of Manila, we will keep everyone posted through our PAL Facebook Page and website," it said.
Meanwhile, PAL said domestic leisure travelers affected by the restrictions under the new IATF resolution may avail of any of the following options: 1. converting plane ticket to a voucher; 2. availing of unlimited rebooking (no rebooking fee) until December 31, 2021; and 3. refunding ticket sans penalties.
"If you will be completing your travel in the same booking class by June 30, 2021 (or ticket validity, whichever comes first), there will be no fare difference charge," PAL noted on the matter of the second option.
"If you are already in a domestic destination and wish to return home, you may do so during this period (March 22 to April 4)," it further said.
"If you are a Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF), Locally Stranded Individual ( LSI) or Authorized Person Outside of Residence (APOR), PAL will accept you on flights, provided that you secure all requirements by your LGU," it added.
