Several towns in Rizal under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) have started reimplementing stricter measures to prevent further surge of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the province.

In Taytay, the Sangguniang Bayan passed Resolution No. 289 requesting Mayor George Ricardo Gacula II to strictly enforce all existing health protocol-related ordinances due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the municipality.
The municipal council has also asked Mayor Gacula to mobilize all force multipliers in the municipality to monitor and implement all previously enacted anti-COVID measures.
Gacula told Manila Bulletin that the ordinances include the imposition of fines of up to P2,500 against violators, aside from imprisonment.
In Binangonan, the Task Force COVID-19 has started the strict implementation of the health and safety protocols, curfew hours from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., regulation of mass gatherings, and non-essential activities; and regulation on tricycle operations requiring the two passengers-only policy.
Partial liquor ban has also been enforced in the municipality, allowing the sale, purchase and distribution of alcoholic beverages from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Restaurants and similar establishments with dine-in service are allowed to operate only until 10 p.m.
Liquor ban has also been reimposed in San Mateo, with penalties ranging from a fine of P2,500 to suspension and revocation of permits of business establishments. Consumers who violate the rules are punished with P500 fine or community service.
In Angono, 16 persons have been caught violating curfew ordinance, according to the office of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon following the nightly operations against minimum health protocol violators.
Angono’s Public Safety and Order Office gives face mask to violators whenever they are caught not wearing one.
As of March 18, 2021, there were 852 active COVID-19 cases, including 113 new cases, out of the 18,579 confirmed cases in the entire Rizal province.
