"I am honored and thankful to the organizing committee for giving me such honor to be included in the list na pwede nilang ma-consider (that they can consider)," he said in an interview over ANC.
Domagoso however said he wants to focus on the COVID-19 pandemic, especially amid the recent uptick in cases, instead of the upcoming elections.
As of March 19, Manila has recorded 32,587 COVID-19 cases, 2,155 of which are active cases. Of this figure, there are 29,585 recoveries and 847 deaths.
"Maraming salamat po sakanila, pero (Thank you very much to them, but) for the citizens of Manila, this is not the right time to talk about politics," he added.
The mayor has been consistently saying his focus is on addressing the pandemic and not politics amid rumors on his election plans for 2022.
Moreno had previously topped surveys on possible candidates for senator, vice president, or president in the upcoming elections.
1SAMBAYAN coalition was formed by various pro-democracy political personalities on March 18. The group aims to field a single opposition standard-bearer for the presidential post in the 2022 elections.
Apart from Domagoso, the coalition is also considering Vice President Leni Robredo, Senators Nancy Binay and Grace Poe, and former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV as possible candidates for president, vice president, or senator.
