The Department of Health conducted an inspection in Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque on March 19 (Friday) to ensure that health protocols are being followed in the busy area.
The inspection was led by Health Secretary Francisco Duque and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez.
Face masks and face shields were also distributed to residents of the barangay during the inspection.
In a brief press conference, Olivarez said "bastuneros" in the city will conduct an inspection in the city anew to check if protocols such as physical distancing, and wearing of face masks and face shields are being followed by residents.
The mayor said Barangay Baclaran is one of the busiest areas in the city since it is frequently visited by non-residents especially on Wednesdays because of the Novena mass in Baclaran Church.
Olivarez said barangay officials have already been ordered to put up checkpoints in Baclaran after the barangay's total tally of COVID-19 cases reached 95.
